Dr. Mastores is an active member of Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH), which provides eye exams to those in need around the world. She has participated in VOSH trips to Ecuador, Mexico, Grenada, and Cameroon.

Meet Your Local Optometrist

Dr. Mastores

Dr. Mastores attended the University of Arizona, then completed her education at Ohio State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. In 2016, Dr. Mastores received the Young Optometrist of the Year award for Arizona, and she currently holds the seat of Vice President of the Arizona State Board of Optometry. She’s a member of the Arizona Optometric Association (AzOA), the American Optometric Association (AOA), and the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).

Eye care is deeply personal for Dr. Mastores, who got her first pair of glasses at age 11, contact lenses at 15, refractive surgery at 33, and glaucoma laser surgery at 35. She empathizes with everyone’s eye care journey—she’s been there.

Dr. Mastores proudly participates in Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH), a non-profit organization that provides eye exams worldwide for those in need. This cause is near to her heart, so much so that she and her husband Mikey were married during a VOSH eye care mission in 2017 in Grenada, West Indies.

When Dr. Mastores closes shop for the day, you’ll find her taking care of her zoo of dogs, cats, and desert tortoises, traveling to beach destinations, or relaxing with fragrant essential oils.
